New Bern Fabric Center was established in 1974 and purchased by Carole and James Hall in 1987. Historic New Bern, North Carolina was founded in 1710 by Christopher de Graffenried of Berne, Switzerland and is the second oldest city as well as the Colonial Capital of North Carolina.
Our experienced sales staff, teachers and service technicians come from a diverse background which includes public education, business, social work, government and farming. They are all committed to sharing their love for sewing and helping our customers make the right decision when purchasing a new BERNINA Sewing and Embroidery Machine, Serger, Software or selecting the best fabric, lace, trims and threads for any sewing project.
Carole, Kari, Jane, Karen, Ruth and Mary Ann have taught hundreds of students the basic art of sewing, smocking, quilting, and how to construct beautiful heirloom creations using their BERNINA Sewing and Embroidery machines and Embroidery Designer Software.
James and Bruce, who retired from careers with the State of North Carolina in conservation and motor vehicle law enforcement, are our BERNINA certified technicians. They have trained with master sewing machine technicians from the BERNINA factory in Switzerland and tutored under an experienced all-brand dealer. James and Bruce think they can fix anything and usually do.
New Bern Fabric Center offers a large selection of fabrics, notions and supplies for clothing, embroidery, heirloom, quilting and smocking.
